What to wear when in Rome

4

I joined the imaginary ‘What to wear when in Rome’ challenge earlier this year in May. Left two pennies in the Trevi Fountain, just to be sure I will come back here at least twice, to wear my purple lipstick & nail polish again.

It is one of my dream destinations, so imagine I was more than excited to have this very trip right for my birthday. I loved Rome since I’ve made my first step on Roman soil. Impossible to discover at its greatest and even more hard to forget. The visit to the Colosseum (Flavian Amphitheatre) has successfully replaced the birthday cake.

And just because you are on vacay doesn’t mean that no more credit has to be given to your own appearance. I hate looking like the typical tourist (extremely large chinos, T-shirt and trekking shoes) & I love being asked for directions by other people when I am in a foreign country.

Trust me, it worths the struggle to choose and pair some smart clothing items before departure:

♣ You will be comfortable wearing what you like and you are already used to;

♣ You will enjoy more the beauty of the place you’re visiting, as you are beautiful and good looking, too;

♣ You pay respect to the history, people and habits of that place, because you pay respect to yourself (read more here);

♣ You will be ready for no matter what challenge, because you have the right shoes – then you can conquer the world!

H&M flats and jeans, random bag & T-shirt, Mango Suit linen blazer.

What I did to avoid the standardised tourist look? Replaced the large chinos with black classical skinny jeans. Replaced trekking shoes with powdered shade ballerinas. Replaced large and undefined T-shirt with a white feminine one. Added a touch of Rome glamour with the linen blazer. Wore my purple MAC Matte lipstick you already know it’s my favourite. Felt like a star.

Am raspuns provocarii imaginare ‘Ce sa port cand merg la Roma’ anul acesta in luna mai. Ba chiar am aruncat doua monede in Fantana Trevi, doar-doar ma voi intoarce de cel putin doua ori in Cetatea Eterna, sa imi mai port odata rujul si lacul de unghii mov…

♣ Te vei simti confortabil purtand haine care iti plac si cu care esti obisnuita;

♣ Te vei bucura mai mult de frumusetea locului pe care il vizitezi, pentru ca si tu esti frumoasa si prezentabila;

♣ Arati respectul cuvenit istoriei, localnicilor si obiceiurilor locului, pentru ca te respecti pe tine insati (citeste mai mult despre asta aici);
